ContributorsAn Introduction to the Land Use History of the Colorado Plateau is a collaboration among CP-LUHNA staff and many contributors. Contributors are chosen based on a demonstrated expertise in their field or topic and a genuine interest in providing useful knowledge and data to those who wish to learn more about the environmental history of the Colorado Plateau. The contributors' goal is our goal -- to involve a wide and influential audience in the thesis that environmental history is a story of change, and that an understanding of the dynamic nature of land cover and land use may help us all to make wise decisions for the future of the Colorado Plateau and its people. Special thanks to Cline Library Special Collections at Northern Arizona University for the use of their extensive image database, to Ray Wheeler for his many contemporary photographs of the Colorado Plateau and his two excellent essays, and to Rick Johnson, for access to his 4000+ citation bibliographic database of the natural history of the Southwest. |
